Shaggy narrowman: Stenandrium barbatum

These <em>Stenandrium barbatum</em>, commonly called Shaggy Narrowman, are a very showy addition to the trails around Carlsbad when they're blooming in the spring.  This one was taken on the <a href="http://www.explorenm.com/hikes/RattlesnakeCanyon/">Rattlesnake Canyon</a> hike, Carlsbad Caverns National Park, in April.
Botanical Characteristics:
Growth habit: Forb/herb
Status: Not endangered in New Mexico.
