From the stoplight in Questa where NM 522 and NM 38 meet, head east on NM 38, toward Red River. After several miles, you should see the campground. Note that the campground is not located where the 1995 Carson National Forest map (nor the 1995 USGS Red River quad) says it is; it is after Elephant Rock campground as you head from Questa to Red River. | No image |

I think that this is the campgraound to go to if you love to fish. It has a lot of great spots to catch some great trout. I have camped in this campground every summer since i was old enough to go. Junebug would be fine if the camp host didnt go around constantly, talking, and telling the same bad joke. People are strange up in those parts. We paid $15. Our area wasnt clean when we showed up. We were here last week of July 2007 and we were moved to 3 different camp sites. The hosts were just too picky and nosy. One move was around 11PM because of a broken tree whom the neighbors discovered and alerted the hosts. We have stayed at Junebug for several years and had lots of good memories with the exception of our last visit. Got down to 37 on the 1st night, but warmed up alittle after that, and a trip to get new sleeping bags didtn't hurt either. My wife and our dog stayed here in early July 2010. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Within close walking of the restroom and water spigot we had almost all the comforts of home. Everyone in the camp grounds was well behaved and we had no problems at all. Being a dry season we were warned about leaving food around drawing a possible bear during the night but no issues with bears at all. Our last morning we were visited but a deer.
