Taperleaf: Asteraceae Pericome caudata

Commonly called taperleaf, this showy plant lights up the countryside with its bright yellow flowers. Its ivy-shaped leaves are a good identification feature. All these photos were taken on 3 September 2005 at Cabresto Lake near Questa, NM by Kenneth.

These triangular, taper-tailed leaves are very distinctive and I often notice abundant growth of this plant with leaves only in the spring.
These pretty yellow flowers are composites with disk flowers only.
