Thicksepal catseye: Cryptantha crassisepala
Overview of Cryptantha crassisepala, commonly called hidden
flower or thick sepal cats eye. Pictures from the Falls Trail in Bandelier
National Monument. Cryptantha crassisepala occurs between 3500
and 6500 ft (1067–1981 m). Note the curved appearance of the right
hand bloom stalk, which reminds me slightly of some of the scorpion weeds.
