California poppy (Eschscholzia californica)

In the California deserts, these poppies, Eschscholzia californica sometimes stretch on as far as the eye can see. There's a California poppy reserve of over 1400 acres that has the entire acreage blooming at one time. Here in New Mexico, we often see these beautiful flowers.
