Pipsissewa: Chimaphila umbellata
Overview of a pipsissewa, Chimaphila umbellata taken along the Black Canyon Trail in the Santa Fe National Forest, 3 August 2001. This member of the wintergreen family has pretty pink flowers that were home to a crab spider when we saw it. The leaves remain green in the winter.
